El Nota is an expense tracking application that uses artificial intelligence to:
- Extract information from receipt images
- Categorize expenses automatically
- Provide spending insights and analytics
- Track budgets across categories
3. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service
- One person may not maintain more than one account
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Upload content that violates any law or infringes on others' rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation
- Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit vulnerabilities

Billing Terms

6. Refund Policy
Our Promise: Try us risk-free for 14 days. After that, refunds are based on your actual usage which is considered fair for everyone.
14-Day Trial Period
Within the first 14 days of your first subscription, you can request a full refund, no questions asked, regardless of how many receipts you've processed. This is your risk-free trial period.
One-Time Trial: The 14-day trial refund is available only once per account. If you've previously received a refund and resubscribe, usage-based deductions will apply from day one to prevent abuse.
After 14 Days: Usage-Based Refunds
After the 14-day trial period, refunds are calculated based on your usage. Each receipt you process represents real value delivered, so we deduct $1.00 per receipt processed from your refund.

- Monthly ($8.99), used 10 receipts: No refund (usage exceeds payment)
- Annual ($83.88), used 20 receipts: $83.88 - $20.00 = $63.88 refund
- Annual ($83.88), used 50 receipts: $83.88 - $50.00 = $33.88 refund
How to Request a Refund

- We'll calculate your refund based on usage and process within 5-7 business days
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method
Non-Refundable Situations
- Account terminated for Terms of Service violations
- Usage value exceeds amount paid (e.g., processed 100 receipts on monthly plan)
- Chargebacks filed without first contacting us
7. AI Processing Disclaimer
Important: Our AI-powered receipt scanning is designed to be helpful but is not 100% accurate. Always verify extracted information, especially for tax or accounting purposes.
- AI extraction may contain errors due to image quality, unusual receipt formats, or handwriting
- We are not responsible for decisions made based on potentially inaccurate extracted data
- The Service is not a substitute for professional accounting or tax advice
8. Intellectual Property
Our Content
The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by El Nota and protected by intellectual property laws.
Your Content
You retain ownership of the receipts and data you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service.
9. Data & Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

10. Service Availability
- We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
- We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability

11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months
- We are not responsible for third-party services or content
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless El Nota from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
- You may close your account at any time through account settings
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
- We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
